Hibanobambusa tranquillans 'Shiroshima' is one of the best variegated bamboo varieties for a hedge. The leaves are long and wide with thick bands of alternating white and green. Generally this variety does better with some afternoon shade as full sun will often yellow the leaves. 'Shiroshima' also grows well in containers and is better than others for growing indoors.
A bamboo for shade, with leaves like the Sun crossed with the greenest grass. The variegation is profound on these leaves. to 6’
The large 10" long leaves are beautifully striped with creamy variegation. The coming of cool weather tips the leaves with pink, a stunning bamboo. The colors do not fade like many variegated bamboos. This is a favorite of ours.
