Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Hirsuta 'Peru' is a sweet little heliconia. The flowers stems are tall and slender and the flower bract graduates from the base with green, then yellow, finally with deep red and the tips. The sepals are unique in that they are quite fat, almost rounded and protruding from the bract at random angles. It is a prolific bloomer. Due to its small size, unique blossoms and frequent bloom cycles it's perfect for containers.
