Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a large pendant flowered or hanging Heliconia with a glorious bright red inflorescence and lemon yellow sepals. It grows up to 15' in a bed and 6-8' in a container and has large banana shaped leaves with waxy powder on the undersides and faint red midrib striping. These can grow in very wet conditions so look great as a marginal plant along a pond or swampy area. Does well in partial to full sun. A wonderful and rare beauty.
