Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is one of the prettiest foliage plants in the Ginger family. It has large paddle shaped leaves that have a deep red or maroon stripe down the center on either side of the midvein. It occurs on both surfaces so is very showy and does not fade out like many red veined Curcumas do. It blooms early with deep red inflorescences that are quite large on the 3 inch tall stems. We have found this to be a very cold hardy and trouble free gem.
