This ginger is perfect for containers reaching at 2' in height and blooming effortlessly year-round. The upright canes form in tightly held clumps and as they mature 2" red cone-like flower heads emerge from the growing tips. Orange tipped flowers poke out from the sides of the flower heads successively over a period of many weeks. A plant that does well under varying light conditions, it can be planted in the summer garden and then lifted for exotic flowers and foliage throughout the winter.

Native to Central America, this Costus is the dwarf version of the species. It has very shiny foliage which contrasts well with the bright red terminal cones with orange flowers. It makes for a very pretty container plant.
