Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Leander Group. Soft pink paling to a pale pink. Approximately 120 petals. Repeat flowering. Pretty, rich pink, cup shaped buds graually open to a deeply cupped flower; later developing into a broad, full-petaled, shallow cup of a soft pink which is paler at the outer edges. The flowers are beautiful at all stages. The Alnwick Rose has bushy, relatively upright growth that stays compact and produces its bloom from early summer to the onset of cold weather. A variety that particularly favours the warmer (than the UK) summers of the States. There is a good Old Rose fragrance with just a hint of raspberry. We are pleased to name this rose after Alnwick Garden in the UK, that includes many English Roses. Height 4 ft. x 2.5 ft. (David Austin 2001, Ausgrab). Shallow cupped flowers. 120 petals.
