Nursery contributed plant descriptions

English Musk. Tangerine-orange. Approximately 45 petals. Repeat flowering. A variety of the rather unusual coloring of the English Roses, but nonetheless very pleasing and useful for creating a little excitement in the border. Before the flowers even begin to open, the outside of the buds are a most wonderful dark red with dashes of orange. When fully open the flowers are a lovely mixture of rich, almost tangerine orange on the inside of the petals and a more yellow orange on the outside. It forms a fairly upright but bushy shrub of medium height, that will flower particularly freely and remain healthy. The flowers have an extremely strong, delicious scent and fruit fragrance with hints of pear, grape and citrus fruits. Winner of a top prize in the trials at Nantes. Lady Emma Hamilton was Horatop Nelson's lover. He led the British in the battle of Trafalgar just over 200 years ago in 1805. 4 ft. x 3 ft. (David Austin 2005, Ausbrother). 45 petals.
