Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Old Rose Hybrid. Pure white. Approximately 145 petals. Repeat flowering. A pure white rose of the neatest perfection and purity. The rounded buds open to pretty medium sized cups that become saucer shaped, eventually flattening and flexing at the edges. At all stages the blooms are filled with very many petals. The short, upright growth is ideal for the front of the border or for use as a hedge. It is a variety particularly well suited to the warmer parts of the U.S. The scent is strong and of Old Rose character, with an unusual heliotrope note. Named after the character in Shakespeare's play 'Taming of the Shrew'. Height 3.5 ft. x 2.5 ft. (David Austin 1982, Ausca). Medium, cupped - reflexing at edges flowers.
