Beautiful, large, pure white single flowers with prominent yellow stamens above unique deeply cut, leathery leaves which are evergreen in winter and nearly covered up by blooms they're so numerous in early to mid spring! Leaves are shinny and almost frilly like a cut leaf Ivy. Bronze purple stems and that color often shows up as markings on the leaves as well. A hybrid between C. paniculata and C. marmoraria, both New Zealand evergreen species - hybids of which are termed 'cartmanii'. Hardy down to 10-15 degrees possibly colder. Needs regular watering especially in full sun and/or hot dry weather. Blooms at a young age on previous year's wood.
