Nursery contributed plant descriptions

It is a beautiful must-have native that is a self-clinging evergreen climber. It blooms ruby red trumpet-shaped flowers in spring and summer and tolerates drought and extra wet weather. It is also a hummingbird magnet!
A wonderful, fairly new to the trade Bignonia that was awarded the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Gold Medal Award. Cultivars, such as 'Dragon Lady' are more restrained in growth than the species. Best growth obtained in cool zones in full sun but will take shade. Evergreen in warm areas, semi-evergreen in cooler areas with burgundy hues to the foliage. Distinctive, orange-tinged ruby blooms, rather than the typical orange. A nice color change. Hardier and more floriferous than the species.
