This is one of the most popular of all shrubs, with good reason! Bright, pink-red buds open to rounded clusters of pure white flowers which emit a strong, sweet daphne-like fragrance. The blossoms then become blue-black fruits. These rounded 4-6' shrubs have handsome grey-green foliage turns wine-to-crimson in autumn. S/M
One of the most sought-after Viburnum species, Korean Spice (often also written Koreanspice) Viburnum features small fuzzy leaves and extra sweet flowers in mid-spring. The rounded white flowers are shaped like snowballs and give this species its other common name, Fragrant Snowball Bush. Korean Spice Viburnum is easy to grow under most conditions and naturally develops a compact form with attractive leaves which turn red in the fall. Any pruning should be done in early summer as winter pruning can reduce the number of flowers produced in the spring.

'Carlcephalum' is a hybrid variety of Viburnum carlesii which blooms a few weeks later and is more fragrant than the typical species.

Clusters of dark pink to red buds open to highly fragrant white flowers in mid and late spring. The flowers are followed by 1/4" red fruit that ripens to black. Fall foliage often becomes a brilliant red.
Perfect, pink to reddish in bud, flowers open white on one of the sweetest smelling shrubs around. Almost a Daphne-like fragrance is intoxicating for a great distance in the garden. Can be used as a foundation plant or in the shrub border. Green summer foliage turns vivid orange red in Fall. This is absolutely one of the finest garden shrubs. You must have either this or V. x carcephalum (or both if there's room) in your garden! Host plant for Spring Azure Blue butterflies.
