Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The maple-like leaves of this shrub (to 6') add interest to shady areas where other Viburnums don?t do well; white flowers, black fruits. S-PSh/M
White flower heads in clusters 1.5-3" wide from pink buds are followed by red drupes which eventually turn purple then black over maple leave like foliage adorn this US East Coast Native. In Fall, the foliage may be purple-pink, red or orange. Ours is generally mauve pink -- a startling and truly delightful color in the Autumn woods! I can't say if it's our clone that's always pink or our weather but since our weather does vary, one might assume this clone is pink in Fall. Berries are suitable for jam. Somewhat suckering but not aggressive - maybe 6 feet after 20 years. Slow growing plant. Host plant for the Spring Azure Butterfly.
