Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The finely-cut leaves of this mounding, groundcover shrub give a lacy appearance and turns bright yellow and orange in the fall; will root where it touches in moist soils. S-PSh/M
Crispa' is a dense, low-growing cultivar with arching habit. It has maple-like, bright green leaves turning yellow and orange into the autumn. The flowers are small, start-shaped, yellowish-white and appear in loose clusters.
A demure Japanese and Korean denizen, this dense low growing deciduous shrub imparts a quiet elegance that belies its dogged constitution. Downward arching, warm brown slender stems form an interlacing mound guised with crinkled bright green Maple-like leaves and loose clusters of tiny starlike creamy white flowers. Effective for stabilizing banks and hillsides, and utilized as a fast spreading shrubby ground cover, low hedge, wall drape or foundation plant, 'Crispa' offers toasty soft orange and yellow shades in the fall, wards off deer and appreciates moist acidic soil and judicious pruning, either in late winter or late spring.
Books say this takes sun or part shade but ours is great in fairly deep shade, too. Can be used for low hedges, massing, or in the shrub border. Also great for a facer, bank cover or taller ground-cover plant. Slowly stoloniferous (spreading). We love this fairly unknown plant. Great delicate foliage effect. Pest free and easy, easy to grow.
