This lovely little willow also known as purple osier or basket willow, is a dainty 3-5' shrub featuring very narrow blue-green leaves and slender purple twigs. This is a beautiful plant for ponds edge or moist garden spot and it is wonderfully suited to basket-making. S/M-W
A hardy compact shrub with narrow deciduous dark blue green foliage, and stems that take on more pronounced purplish red tones in winter. Dwarf Arctic Willow responds well to pruning and stooling and is probably most attractive when kept at a 2-3 tall plant, but can grow to 5' if left to its own habit. Branches useful for basket making, and plants are deer resistant and attractive to butterflies. Shipping trade gallons.
A dense, rounded shrub with slim, purple stems and narrow, blue-green foliage. Good plant for wet areas.
Hardy to all zones. This rugged little shrub willow grows quickly to about 30 inches, then sends out long, graceful shoots that weep to the ground. Whips used for basket making. Also takes to clipping. Very narrow leaves about ¼ inch x 1 inch long. We feature them on the Garden Railroad at Tillamook Bend. LiveScale© Choice-Dwarf. Shipping size: 12+ inches, just starting to branch out. DWARF
A graceful plant with very slender blue-green leaves (yellow in Fall) on young burgundy stems that thrives in poor soil and is somewhat drought tolerant. Compact and refined, it can be easily shaped. It can actually be pruned to a formal hedge or even a topiary. It actually loves being shaped and is happy to be kept at 2-3 or even Bonsai size! Sways beautifully in the breeze. Tremendous design potential. Fast grower. Extremely cold hardy. Great Plant Picks - Miller Botanical Garden. Native to Europe, western Asia.
