'Chickasaw' is the first true miniature Lagerstroemia indica x L. fauriei hybrid, reaching a height of 20 inches and a width of 26 inches after seven years. Highly tolerant to powdery mildew. Root hardy in zone 6 and will often die back like a perennial and but will return in spring. (The same is true for full size Crape Myrtles in zone 6.) Developed at the National Arboretum with a complex series of breedings. About 20" tall in 7-8 years.
