Ilex 'Sparkleberry' is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring white flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Attracts bees, beneficial insects and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - shade and regular water. Does well in average and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

A winner of the prestigious Styer Award, the name of this upright 12' shrub says it all... from fall into spring it just sparkles with its heavy crop of 3/8" brilliant-red fruits; pollinated by I. 'Apollo'. Sun/Med
Developed at the National Arboretum. The 3/8" red fruit persist into winter, often thru March. Distinctly upright form. Received the prestigious Styer Award from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society in 1987. Choice deciduous holly. Female form works well with Southern Gentleman above.
