The undersides of the wide, gray-green leaves are covered with white, woolly hairs on this tender med-sized shrub, but that doesn?t keep the butterflies from enjoying the long clusters of fragrant lilac-blue flowers. S/M
This deciduous shrub offers a soft, green-gray cast of pubescent new leaves and stems, which later turn glabrous but remain felted along the undersides. Fragrant spikes of light lavender-blue flowers spotted with a deep orange eye appear over a long blooming period from summer to fall. Grows to 10' tall. Hardy to 10F.
Buddleia 'Lochinch' growing to 4-6 feet tall producing large sprays of fragrant violet blue flower panicles from July to frost...silver foliage....attracts butterflies...good cut flower
This hybrid between B. fallowiana & B. davidii is everyone's favorite according to Tony Avent, making a reasonably short plant, with silvery gray foliage, topped with lovely lavender blue flowers on long panicles. If you like Color Echoes (see books by C. Colston Burrell) plant it with Russian Sage. THE MOST FRAGRANT BUDDLEIA!
