Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A hardy, quick growing, evergreen, butterfly attracting shrub, with pairs of white backed, lance shaped leaves clothing the woody stems. Dense, conical sprays of small, tubular, four petalled flowers of an unusual wine red shade.Trim lightly after each flush of flowers or it can be pruned back to ground level while in active growth to encourage vigorous new basal shoots. As close to red as a Buddleja gets. One of my favorites.

Buddleia 'Royal Red' grows up to 6-8 feet producing very long (20") panicles of red purple fragrant flowers, attracting butterflies by the hundreds.
Reddish-purple, fragrant bloom spikes to 20" long! A great performer. Attracts myriads of butterflies. Deadhead to promote re-bloom. Fast growing. Buddlejas are considered invasive in some areas, please consult your local state offices before purchasing.
'African Queen', 'Burgundy', 'Red Plume', and 'Wine' are all actually 'Royal Red'! It's so fabulous, people keep giving it new names! An abundance of elegant, fragrant red-purple blooms - (not really red). Tiny individual flowers are produced in profusion in long, dense trusses up to an AMAZING 20" long! Not red (RHS 81A) but the closest thing to it in the Buddleia world. 1928 hybrid from Good & Reese still holds it own against newcomers!
