Buddleja davidii 'Black Knight' is a fast-growing broadleaf deciduous shrub with blue and green foliage. In fall and summer purple flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and regular water. Does well in clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant and wind tolerant.

Black Knight Butterfly Bush is the darkest purple of butterfly bushes. Butterflies and hummingbirds love the fragrant smell from the blooms. Good accent or background plant. Low maintenance bush that blooms all summer. Black Knight Butterfly bush is a great bush to have in your pollinator garden.

Deep violet clusters of fragrant, tubular flowers bloom from July to October on this vigorous, deciduous bush. Leaves are dark green with white, felted undersides. Growing 10-15' high, it is adaptable to alkaline soils, and maritime conditions. Prune back hard either to ground or to woody framework annually in March. Hardy to 0F and below.
Showy deep violet-purple, fragrant spikes, to 8" long, are held at the ends of the arching, woody stems. Blooming from spring to fall. Deadhead to encourage repeat blooming. A favorite of butterflies. Probably the most striking color of all the Buddlejas. Butterfly Bush is considered invasive in some areas, please consult your local state offices before purchasing.
Buddleia are well known for continuous flowers in late summer. Well named, all buddleia attract butterflies. Can grow 6-8' in ten years but is usually cut back. This one is dark purple. Awards: Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Recommended by: Garden Clubs of America, and the United States National Arboretum.
