Aronia melanocarpa 'Autumn Magic' is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring white flowers emerge followed by black fruit. Features glossy texture. Attracts bees and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - bright shade and even moisture - regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

An upright deciduous shrub with many seasons of interest. 'Autumn Magic's leaves are dark green and turn brilliant scarlet and orange tones in the fall. Showy white flowers appear in spring. Black berries appear in the fall and hang in pendulous clusters on the plant. It adapts well to poor soil, both wet and dry. Edible berries for humans and wildlife.

More compact than the species with brilliant red and purple autumn foliage and clusters of persistent purplish black fruits, I suspect it is actually a hybrid with arbutifolia since pure melanocarpa does not display good fall color.
