Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An elegant and very lovely form of the white pine, with long weeping branches. Support to desired height, then allow to ?weep?. S/M-D
Weeping Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus 'Pendula') is a semi-dwarf conifer with long hanging branches that can touch the ground. The main trunk will stay slightly more upright but often starts to grow sideways or even straight down again. The plant can be easily shaped by staking the trunk or side branches to form figures and designs over the course of several years. The main leader should be staked upright from a young age to at least six feet tall before letting the tree shape itself to ensure a good form, otherwise you might end up with a lopsided tree.
Don't crowd weeping trees like the Weeping Eastern White Pine too close to other large plants in your landscape so their individual form can be appreciated from a distance. Adding small, colorful plants around the base of the tree is always a good choice!
Naturally variable, the well-known weeping white pine has long, twisting, pendulous branches and an irregular form. Staking when young produces a central leader. Soft, long, blue-green needles grow in clusters of five.
A selected form of the Eastern white pine with all pendulous branches undulating as they cascade downward. Beautiful blue-green, long needles are soft to the touch.
This may be the most graceful and interesting of all the weeping evergreens. Each plant will take on its own shape as a result of location and pruning. Branches tend to grow horizontally first, before drooping down. Long, bluish-green needles and unique form will make this a nice piece in any garden. Growth Rate fast
Long, blue-green needles cascade gently from swooping, pendulous branches on this popular, robust specimen of Eastern White Pine. If staked, its form can be tall, slender and distinctly weeping, or it can drape and dangle along the ground, if left to its own devices. Smooth, gray bark gives the pine an elegant, formal look.
Stake for height. Slender when young, forming broad mound with maturity, Deer resistant. Hardy to zone 3.
A very interesting weeping form of Eastern White Pine. It's long branches sweep the ground. A handsome and ornamental specimen. Graceful pendulous branchlets show off blue-green, needles to great advantage. A fast growing focal point plant. Definitely check out the photo link above on this one -- the pictures say it better than words. It's hard to give a mature height as each plant develops it's own 'personality'
