Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Narrow (to only 1-3') and dwarf (to only 4-5') with dark, shiny evergreen foliage makes this an elegant vertical accent for containers, formal gardens, entrances, hedges; low maintenance and drought tolerant. S/M PP20049
a.k.a Ilex crenata 'Farrowone'. A new selection of Japanese Holly, with a narrow pyramidal habit, ultimately reaching 4-5', we're told. It tends to shoot out ascending branches, as opposed to the strictly vertical growth of Ilex 'Sky Pencil' and 'Sky Sentry'. Like all hollies it prefers an acid loam with good drainage. 'Sky Pointer' provides a strong architectural element that doesn't get too tall. 2-3' plants for spring shipping.
A conical seedling of 'Sky Pencil'. Shiny evergreen leaves with tight upright branching. A perfect accent for formal gardens. Needs no pruning to look freshly sheared and maintain it's symmetrical columnar shape. This is the slimest Ilex crenata yet. Perfect flanking the entrance to a garden. Needs good winter mulch in zone 5.
