Agarista populifolia is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring cream and white flowers emerge. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - shade and even moisture - regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, average, clay, gritty, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

(Now Agarista populifolia) New growth is bronze and matures to dark green on the Evergreen form of Agarista. Slow to moderate growth. Glossy, deep green leaves are 2-3" long. The blooms appear in late spring are creamy white and borne in dense clusters in the leaf axils. Pipestem is quite showy and the flowers are sweetly fragrant and is just beginning to be appreciated by the horticultural community
