Does well in average and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

Very similar to this old print except perhaps not quite as ruffled. Supposed to be the same as Hippeastrum Puniceum. One of several old amaryllis we have found preserved in the gardens of India.
Bulbs are small for amaryllis but full size (about 1 to 1.5 inches across)
