Reputedly deer- and rodent-proof, C. fragrans takes it from there: lemon-peel-yellow, sweet citrus fragrant trumpet blooms open in midsummer prior to the emergence of its blades of green foliage. It especially enjoys the warm, moisture-retentive (but still draining) soil of a pot, and thus can be easily brought inside for the winter in colder climes to be stored in a cool, dry place. Or you can appreciate them as a particularly special annual. From Chile.
Minimum temperature: 20°F
A delightful Amaryllis relative from Chile. Rare for its color and its sweet fragrance. Blooms in late spring or summer and has grey-green leaves in summer. Multiplies well for me here in Arizona. Must have a well drained, sunny location.
Large 10/12 cm blooming size bulbs.
