Karma Dahlias were developed specifically the cut flower industry. Their shimmering colors will add a bright sparkle to any garden or bouquet. Originally from Mexico, Dahlias are cameleons of the flower world. They come in a wild range of size, shapes, and colors. Dahlias should not be planted outside until after the danger of frost has past. They can be started indoors if a jump start is desired. In zones where soil freezes (colder than zone 8) dig the tubers in the fall and save for spring planting. Plant them shallowly, placing the sprouts within an inch of the soil line. We sell divisions that are roughly equivalent to 1/2 of a clump. The actual size and tuber count will vary, but there will always be one or more sprouts. Many can be further sub-divided. As long as there is a sprout, each division can make a full size, flowering plant. The size of the original tuber is not important.
