(SICILIAN HONEY GARLIC) Bulbous perennial of distinction native to Italy and France. From clumps of blue green foliage come 3' tall, upright stems in late spring bearing exotic clusters of nodding, white bells heavily marked with burgundy. Best in dryish

This heirloom hails from Mediterranean and Black Seas regions and happily mixes in U.S. gardens, blooming in mid to late spring. Cranberry and ivory bell flowers dangle in the breeze, attracting hummingbirds, butterflies and delighted neighbors' comments. The foliage is also unusual, with slender three dimensional leaves that appear to be grabbed at the tips and twisted. Very cool.

This onion relative has loose umbels of delicate bell-shaped flowers that hang downwards like, well, bells from three foot leafless stalks! The flowers are an unusual burgundy-pink and green with white edges. The leaves are long and straplike, triangular in cross section and twisting as they rise. They smell of onions. The bulbs are easy to grow and bloom.

Closely related to alliums, with heads of quite large individual flowers each of which hang gracefully from the tall main flower stem. The blooms are heavily marked with a sophisticated pallet of pink and green. Allium relative commonly known as Honey Garlic with pendant flowers rather larger than most Alliums, Europe. Zone 5

The flowers of Allium Bulgaricum otherwise known as Nectaroscordum Siculum are bell-shaped and grow in loose umbels. The stalks of the flower cluster all arise from one point like spokes of an umbrella. The color is unusual; green and purple with white edges. The bulbs are easy to grow and bloom in May and June. Deer do not bother the plants." These Mediteranian Natives will grow and thrive in many climates. They are quite unique and well worth a try. Zones 6-10. Top size, 8+ cm round bulbs
