    Hedychium flavum is a broadleaf deciduous, evergreen or semi-evergreen perennial with green foliage. In fall and summer cream and yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and even moisture - regular water. Does well in rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

    This tall hardy ginger has tropical yellow flowers on stems from four to eight feet tall. Full sun in rich soil with abundant moisture during the growing season. Mulch with fallen leaves in winter. In colder regions grow in a pot or store in dry peat moss and keep above zero.

    Hedychium Flavum has slightly grey green leaves. The flowers are a large creamy yellow color produced from a cone like spike. They have spicy citrus flower scent so powerful that it can remain in a house all day. If the fragrance is too strong in a confined space remove all but one inflorescence. Good as a cut flower. It is a hardy for a ginger but any frost will kill the foliage. The rhizome will remain healthy to zone 8. Move inside for winter in colder areas.
