Robbie's Twist was found by the expert propagator, Crispin Silva, Molalla, OR. Although the growth is not straight, it keeps a narrow upright form through youth. The new growth is covered with brown indumentum and remains distinctive all year.

In its infancy, this is a plant only a mother (or collector) could love. Awkward at first, 'Robbie's Twist' gradually develops a unique irregularly branched upward growing form to 8' or more, clothed with more narrow fan shaped foliage that is often notched. Fall color is a splendid yellow. 1-2' plants for spring shipping.
