Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Although this primrose is perhaps best known as a handsome pot plant for spring display, it is native to alpine regions of central Europe. The species often displays yellow flowers on sturdy stems extending from the axils of the fleshy foliage. Our seed sown strain will exhibit unusual petal colors ranging from from mustard yellow through deep reds, purples and violet blues arranged around a central disc of white to yellow and often "dusted" with white powdery meal. Auriuclas prefer well drained soil but adequate moisture. Most will be in the 6-8" height range.
