Hot pink striped burgundy-purple, fountain-forming leaves, and red foxtail flower heads make a provocative, textural border or focal point. In cooler regions it makes a good thriller in a container to be brought into a basement window for the winter. Cut back to 6" in fall and continue watering through winter. 3'Tx2'WMinimum temperature: 15?F
Fireworks' is a new variation on the spectacular purple fountain grass. In this case the midrib has the same rich burgundy but the edges of each leaf are variegated with hot pink! Fabulous. Forms clumps of bold arching foliage. From mid-summer to early autumn it bears masses of pink to purplish pink furry plumes that arch above the foliage. Use in mixed perennial beds, mass plantings, as well as in mixed containers. It looks good with almost everything. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
Pennisetum 'Fireworks' is a beautiful new variety that is red with pink margins. It is an excellent and very easy plant for landscapes or containers. These are very nice sized plants with brilliant color now. Grows in upright clumps to about 24 inches.....nice size for an impact yet small enough to minimize maintenance. Pennisetum 'Fireworks' likes full sun and a fairly good soil. Fairly drought tolerant when established. [Pennisetum setaceum 'Fireworks' pp# 18504]
