Elegant!, this 12-18" royal beauty offers lovely outward-facing flowers of ivory flushed with pink and streaked with green and rose over a long early (Feb-Apr) spring bloom period. PSh/M/acid PP16199
Also known as Helleborus x nigersmithii 'Walhelivor'. With dark dusky pink buds and outward facing, easy-to-view ivory-petaled blooms, this vigorous Lenten Rose is aptly named. Innovated by the truly gifted English breeder David Tristram, and vegetatively propagated, 'Ivory Prince's exquisite flowers reveal a subtle infusion of colors, from soft green and antique rose on the inside to earthy plum hues on the exterior. Sturdy wine-tinted stems and princely, deep green leatherlike foliage marked by light prominent veining and toothed margins maintain a pleasing evergreen presence all year long.(PPAF) Hardy to zone 5.
This wonderful cultivar is a vigorous hybrid hellebore that offers at least two and a half months of floral interest followed by a whole year of great foliage. In February the plump pink buds develop. By March the flowers open to reveal large creamy petals with dusty pink reverses and green centres. By April the cream colour deepens to green and dusty rose. The leathery evergreen bluish foliage is subtly mottled and held aloft by red stems. Deer resistant.
a.k.a. Helleborus x nigersmithii 'Walhelivor'. Selected by David Tristam & offered through Plant Haven, this selection has handsome evergreen blue-gray-green foliage which is deer and rabbit resistant. In late winter, the rich pink buds open to reveal outward facing, flattened ivory blossoms that are streaked with rose, and become blushed with chartreuse as they fade. This compact grower (6-12") is very floriferous due its sterile nature.
