Developed in the Netherlands, this brightly colored compact (3-4?) dogwood has rich yellow stems tipped blood red, which are quite striking in winter landscapes as well as indoor arrangements.
Andre van Nijnatten, the breeder of Winter Flame, brings us another special Cornus with beautiful yellow stems tipped with red. It's a spectacular show in the winter sunlight. This variety is dwarf in form, reaching a height of 3 to 4 feet. Cornus usually reach a height of 8 to 10 feet, making Arctic Sun a great breakthrough for smaller gardens or residential landscapes. This wonderful shrub will add sensational color in the fall with its golden yellow and peachy orange foliage. It is extremely beautiful in the winter with its yellow stems with red tips. Bring the outdoors in and use Arctic Sun as a cut stem for holiday arrangements or for season long color indoors. Features: Beautiful yellow stems with deep red tips. A good plant for mixed borders. Fall and winter color. Deer resistant. Good for cutting. Tips and Uses: Beautiful in the landscape or a container to add winter interest. Stems may be cut for winter flower arrangements. A compact colored twig dogwood, with golden stems that terminate in various shades of red. Fall foliage color is a warm yellow. The stems are excellent cut and used in winter arrangements, both indoors and out. Grows 3-4' tall, and 5' wide. PPAF
