Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A pretty woodlander that has small white flowers on a narrow spike in spring. But unlike most perennials, M. rossii best feature is its maple like leaves that turn brilliant red, orange and yellow in the fall.
Ground-covering perennial, a Heuchera relative from China discovered by the late plantsman, Steve Doonan. Slowly clumping, to 1 ft x 1 ft, in well-drained soil with generous water until established. Quite drought tolerant thereafer. Leaves are a bright, shiny green and the white spring flowers make a nice contrast. Sun to part shade. Frost hardy in USDA zone 4.
Acer as in Maple, what a perfect name for this genus. In the early Spring you have a long lasting spray of crisp white flowers and the foliage holds up well all the growing season. I grow it in a rich moist bed that gets a few hours of sun in mid day. Height is about 6" -12" and it forms a clump with multiple divisions of about the same size.
Actually, I prefer Aceriphyllum; Mukdenia sounds so? well, mucky, not at all apropos. An engaging monotypic woodland Saxifrage relative from China; with large maple like leaves; the 5 petaled starry white flowers are in compact helicoid cymes arising from the creeping rootstock. ZONE 4
A wonderful member of the Saxifraga family with handsome foliage and short spires of white flowers in April and early May. Beautiful red shades overwhelm the foliage in the fall.
