Alocaisa Calidor is a larger growing a hybrid between Alocasia odora and Alocasia gageana done by LariAnn Garner. This plant produces large upright leaves that can grow to 5 feet tall or large. LariAnn Garner, Director of Aroidia Research has given us the scoop on the correct name and parentage of this impressive plant, which is a cross between Alocasia odora and Alocasia gageana. a.k.a. incorrectly as 'Persian Palm', and 'Calodora'. Enjoy this very large and impressive Alocasia with huge palm like leaves that unfurl in an upward arching fashion. It's a heat lover and in areas with long steamy summers it can reach 5-7'. Gardeners in northern climates might expect a 3-4' plant once the hot summer weather sets in.
