This legendary lady is ready for your garden. This hydrangea comes from a farmhouse in Indiana. Legend has it, Sadie Ray has bloomed every year for over 50 years in the zone 5 area. Often, it would die back to the ground but still bloom during the summer for all to enjoy. Pale blue in acidic soil and pale pink in neutral, Sadie Ray has a strong habit and large flat green leaves. The blooms age to green during late summer. This one can rebloom in more mild climates.
A pass along plant from Indiana, 'Sadie Ray' is legendary for being able to die back to the ground each winter, only to break ground each spring and bloom reliably each summer. Mophead type flowers are blue if grown in acid soil, but are a pink to rose shade if grown in a more neutral or sweet soil. 2-3'.
