A sprawling evergreen shrub forming dense patches. An ideal ground cover, it's bright acid yellow felt-like leaves making it an attractive foil for other plants or for lighting up a shady area. Bears sprays of small insignificant white flowers in summer.Prefers more shade than typical H. petiolare and is slightly less vigorous.

Similar to the species, but with pale, golden-chartreuse foliage. Requires moderate to deep shade where it provides an outstanding splash of color. The plants in our garden have spread vigorously to perhaps twice as large as the species.
The pale lime-green form of the cascading popular "licorice plant" makes a great foliar companion with anything in deep purple, blue or coral shades. It benefits from being cut back a few times over ths summer, which encourages fresh growth.
