No matter how many of these, one of the easiest plants in the world to propagate, plants we produce in a year, we always sell out. Imagine a native orchid that has fragrant white flower spikes in October. Although primarily a bog plant, its perfectly happy in a normal garden situation and very easy to grow. We have quadrupled production this year and hope to not have to disappoint anyone.
A selection of this very easy to grow native orchid. So far, we haven't observed a difference the plain species we offer. Grows in average to wet soils.
This hardy eastern US native orchid is similar to our BC native S. romanzoffiana. It is easy to grow and adaptable for garden and landscape use. Silvery-green ground-hugging rosettes slowly form colonies in moist soils, bogs or swamps. Fragrant white flowers spiral upward in August and September. Can also be used as a marginal plant for water gardens
Blooms: late summer-fall, white, vanilla scented/ late winter foliage. Zone 5-9, 16", Eastern US, part shade-sun, moist
Nodding Ladies Tresses are terrestrial orchids that are easy and tough and bloom in late summer and fall. 15" stems are decorated in a spiral fashion with fragrant white tubular blossoms. Prefers a soil that has ample moisture.
