Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tall, willowy lady with strong upright stems to 6’or more from 3’ clumps of deep, cut leaf green foliage...glowing yellow flowers with softly reflexed petals appear over a long period from July thru Sept (some deadheading is worthwhile); great cut flowers; looks good with tall grasses and behind roses. Full sun, well drained (even poor) soils, likes moisture during bloom period. Easy! Bait for mollusks when plants emerge in spring.
From German hybridizers (a.k.a. R. 'Herbstonne'), this American native yellow coneflower is spectacular from late July-Sept. Prominent green cones accent the yellow petals. 5-7', depending on available moisture
A “best in class” hybrid rudbeckia for the back of informal cottage gardens, the meadow garden with tall grasses or for delineating garden rooms. This one is tall, the flowers waving over your head are composed of prominent green cones surrounded by large lemon yellow petals in the summer months. Robust but never rampant, it is seldom bothered by any problems, and the stems are strong and upright in most conditions. A winning perennial that attracts butterflies and finches.
This stately perennial coneflower is a black-eyed susan relative with a green central cone and reflexed bright yellow petals. The flowers are held on tall stems that can grow up to eight feet in height. It is an excellent back of the border presence for the summer garden blooming over a long season through July and August. Popular with butterflies.
Huge 4-6" golden yellow, green-eyed daisies are held on 4-6' sturdy stems and produce an extended summer display. A reliable and vigorous clump forming perennial that is adored by butterflies and pollinators of all shapes and sizes. The rich green deeply cut foliage is disease and pest resistant. Deadhead spent flowers to extend the flowering season well into fall. Appreciates ample moisture when in growth. One of our favorites! There has been much confusion as to exact parentage /species of this excellent cultivar though many beleive that it originated as a German developed hybrid of two US natives, Rudbeckia laciniata and R. nitida. 'Autumn Sun' is considered to be a synonym of 'Herbstonne'.
A showy & super tall growing Rudbeckia to brighten the late Summer & Fall garden. From a strong mound of rich, dark green foliage, it sends up July-August, many erect, branching 7’ stems topped by 4” across, bright golden blooms with large central cones. An easy, reliable, addition to your garden requiring little care & lotsa cut flowers. Loved by butterflies, too! Rich soil is best.
