A compact, evergreen viburnum that deserves a place in every deer-country landscape. The high gloss of the small, dark green leaves is a perfect backdrop for lightly fragrant, white flowers in late April. The abundant flowers are followed by a colorful red fruiting display beginning in late August and lasting for 6-8 weeks. Cold winter weather gives the foliage a maroon tinge. Tolerates diverse climatic and soil conditions. Grows best in full sun to partial shade in a heavy loam with an adequate moisture supply. Tolerates drought and drier soils extremely well.
