Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A handsome and undemanding small tree whose glossy green leaves assume gorgeous fall colors of fiery scarlet, crimson and orange. The soft- green flower panicles in April-May are not especially showy; however, female trees produce showy red fruits if a male is present (ours are unsexed). This tree makes a wonderful choice for tough garden spots, Xeriscape and urban sites. S/M-D
Pest-free and exceptionally drought tolerant small tree (20 ft.), with excellent red, purple, and orange fall color, even in the deep South. A logical tree for infertile soils or unirrigated urban sites along streets, in parking medians, or under power lines, where it's tough character will ensure its success.
Famed for it's fall color in the South a much under utilized tree that lends itself to urban settings as a shade tree, street tree, or lawn tree. Few large, well-mannered southern trees have such beautiful fall colors in shades of pink, orange, red, and yellow. Produces a nice spreading and rounded crown and has a medium rate of growth and few if any disease and pest problems. Beautiful peeling bark on mature specimens and female trees produce large clusters of red berries that ripen to dark blue.
Lustrous dark green leaves; fall yellow, orange & orange-red plants are dioeciously, may fruit, Hardy to Zone 6
Top five fall color! This plant should be used much more....it is tough, tolerant of harsh conditions, beautifully clean and pest free in summer and AWESOME in fall.
