An especially nice form of the Colorado Blue Spruce, this small-medium tree has a densely conical habit and vividly glaucous-blue needles. S/M/GDr
Large evergreen conifer with extremely blue foliage. The needles are long and thick, which makes them even more attractive. Will have a nice pyramidal shape at maturity, but won't have a full, sheared look. This makes the contrast between the outside vibrant blue needles and inner green needles even more noticeable. For a short time in the spring, the cones are a beautiful magenta, which looks amazing against the bluest of blue needles. Growth Rate medium, 6-12" annually
Picea pungens 'Hoopsii' - Outstanding Blue Colorado Spruce! Evergreen tree, considered by some to be the bluest form. New growth is especially bright blue. Pyramidal form that holds stiff horizontal branches with dense silvery-blue needles.
One of the bluest of all the pungens clones, this 1958 Grootendorst plant is very impressive, much deeper in color than Thompson or Salem, it makes a fantastic landscape specimen.
The archetypal "blue spruce." Conical form with fantastic sharp powder-blue needles. One of the most blue varieties.
Dense irregular pyramidal shape, Deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established. Zones 2-8.
Generally I would not recommend a Blue Spruce in this area of GA,but this one works. And to me it is THE BEST color!! No matter what you read elsewhere, in warmer climates with long growing seasons, it is actually pretty slow growing. But that makes it good as a container plant, or other specimen spot.
