Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Magnificent sweetly-scented, double, lavender-purple blossoms hang in racemes up to 12" long from this superb 20-30' vine. The flowers on this top-notch cultivar bloom somewhat later than other wisterias, extending the flower season. Pretty, soft-green pinnate leaves turn glowing yellow in the autumn. Like all wisterias, this requires a sturdy support and full sun; a stunning vine well-worth planting! S/M
Our cultivar is from New Zealand and has double blooms. They are one of the darkest purples, but NOT black-purple. Fragrant flowers open about the same time as leaves appear. Deciduous. vigorous vine, filtered to full sun. Flower Color: dark purple Double flowers, 6-12 inch racemes. Humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil
Fragrant, dark-purple, double flowers in 10"-20" racemes. Sporadic summer bloom, strong support. Hardy zones 5-9.
Also sold as 'Black Dragon'. This is a splendid selection, a nice violet-blue, and the only true double-flowered wisteria in existence. Grow it in full sun, and prune carefully, and this vine will be very floriferous.
