The velvety, fine-textured leaves of this 10-12' shrub unfold in a dark- maroon and maintain a maroon tinge during the summer before turning bright-red in fall; an excellent border plant and birds will love the red fruit. S/M
(YELLOW CRANBERRY VIBURNUM) Award winning 6-8’deciduous shrub with upright arching branching...pale green leaves turn bright yellow to red in fall. Its foliage emerges maroon, turning maroon-tinged green as it matures. 2-5" lace-cap flowers bloom in May, with maroon, bead-like fertile florets ringed with blushed, white sterile florets. Fall brings the richest red-purple color to the leaves. If you'd like a lace-cap hydrangea but haven't the shade, consider this! Or just consider it anyway - it has so much to offer. Minimum temperature: -40?F
This National Arboretum hybrid is upright 12’ x 2’. The purple new growth is pretty and at the same time the white lace cap flowers appear all over the plant. The easy hardy plant is excellent year to year.
Quite a spectacular viburnum. Leaves on new growth emerge flushed red.Flower form is similar to a lace-cap hydrangea with large show sterile flowers in a ring around the small, fertile ones, and are most dramatic when the sterile flowers first open to the palest possible pink while the inner buds are a dark contrasting maroon red. On top of all that, great fall color. Nice medium sized shrub, reaching 6 feet or so in not too many years. Zone 4
This lovely shrub has lots of deep maroons in it. The new foliage is maroon, buds are maroon and open to lacecap flowers sporting maroon "lace" within white sterile florets.
