Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A favorite in America since colonial days which is easily understood when this fantastic 10-12' shrub produces masses of snowball-like white flowers. The May blooms develop a rosy-blush as they fade hence the 'Roseum'. This shrub is gorgeous again in autumn when it changes into its stunning orange-red fall coat. This sterile cultivar does not develop the cranberry-like fruit. S/M
Roseum' Viburnum is one of several plants that are known as 'Snow Ball Bushes' due to their beautiful white blooms which are formed by groups of florets arranged into a perfect sphere. The flowers last for several weeks before falling away, because the flowers are sterile they don't produce any berries and the entire flower drops away without having to be dead-headed.
The leaves are lobed like a small maple leaf but tough enough that deer don't bother this plant. In the fall the leaves turn an attractive color ranging from bright orange on the tips to dark red near the bottom of the plant.

New stems are produced from the base so plants will form a dense shrub without the need for pruning, making this an excellent choice for a hedge or screen plant. Growth is fast and plants establish quickly even in poor soils and under drought conditions.

Deer Resistance
Usually very resistant to deer. Occasionally our deer will nip off some leaves here and there (of course our deer eat almost anything, from rhododendrons to cedars) but the woody stems prevent continual feeding.

Propagation
We have great success with hardwood cuttings taken in the winter as well as softwood cuttings taken during early summer. Layering of branches works well in home gardens, and clumps can be divided after several years (do divisions in late winter).
Great cold tolerance and a prolific bloomer however it will require Photoshop and a bit of imagination to turn this sucker pink, the snowball heads of sterile flowers are greenish white in bud turning white and later, well, I don't know but I would not call that color pink.
Rounded lime-green buds mature to 3" rounded clusters of pure white hydrangea-like flowers. Bronze and green new growth matures to apple-green, textured maple-like foliage. A true heirloom that has been in cultivation in Europe since the 16th century. An easily grown rounded shrub to 12'H x 12'W. May display good red, orange, and yellow fall color in some regions. This sterile selection of European Cranberrybush produces no fruit.
Large white snowball size flowers cover shrub in spring, flowers are sterile with no berries. Zones 4-9.
This is the well known Snowball Viburnum, producing round clusters of creamy white flowers to 3" every May. This viburnum will get 12' and furrowed, dark green leaves turn to deep purple-red in autumn. This cultivar grows to 8-10' in height and 9-12' in width.
