Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Very dwarf shrub of dense, tufted habit to 2'; similar to above but non-fruiting; mass of red broom-like twigs in winter. S/M
Dwarf European Cranberry Bush Viburnum is one of the most interesting short viburnum varieties we grow. It is a non flowering broom variety that requires no trimming to hold its dense and low form, making this one of the easiest landscaping plants to grow. The root system is very tolerant of heavy clay or rocky soils, and prefers locations with regular watering. Over time the plant grows larger in diameter, eventually up to a couple of feet. This is a deciduous viburnum, showing the gnarled and sharply angled branches in the winter.
This is a very interesting plant for shady locations, as the leaves will get larger with deep shade. Viburnum opulus nanum is popular for growing as a border along garden pathways.

Shipping Season
Container plants ship in all seasons with possible delays during extreme heat or cold.

Deer Resistance
Usually very resistant to deer. Occasionally our deer will nip off some leaves here and there (of course our deer eat almost anything, from rhododendrons to cedars) but the woody stems prevent continual feeding.

Propagation
We have great success with hardwood cuttings taken in the winter.
A very dwarf form, rarely over 2' in height and spreading, with dense tufted habit, and small-lobed leaves, deciduous. Twigs and leaves have good fall color when grown in sun. No flowers. Makes an interesting ground cover.

This viburnum is a dense mound 2' x 2', with beautiful, dense green foliage and brilliant red fall color. Seldom flowers or fruits. Excellent along a path or mixed in the perennial border for contrast.
