Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub with an upright, rounded habit. White aromatic flowers appear in April to May then form into berries. Initially they are light pink changing to dark pink, then to blue, and finally to purplish-black. The clusters of acidic, but edible berries often contain dark pink and blue berries at the same time. This is very attractive in the late summer to early fall. Foliage is glossy green and changes to reddish purple in the fall. Pruning can be done in the fall if needed. For best flower and fruit display, plant in groupings. Growth Rate medium
Oh no a naked Viburnum, call out the censors and bleep it from the landscape. Well with the Winterthur name, maybe we can pass it off in the guise of art and trick the rubes. Creamy white flowers in may, which give rise to a spectacular fruit display, the berries slowly changing from hot pink to bright blue; the deep green leaves turn a lovely wine red in autumn. The species has a distinct preference for acid sites.
White flowers spring, blue-black berries, red-purple fall color, pollinator for other viburnums. USDA zones 5-9.
Fall color is always ASTOUNDING! You'll fall in love with this gem! Lustrous, deep green leaves transform to the most breath-taking wine red autumn color. Spectacular fruit color evolves from white to hot pink to bright blue. Dislikes alkaline soils. FIRST CHOICE AWARD '99. AWARDS: GMPA Variable leaf width - narrow to wide. Plant with 'Brandywine' above for a bumper crop of berries (two clones produce a better berry crop.)

This wonderful compact form will fruit without a pollinator were told but not as heavily as it would with a pollinator. Pink fruit appear in the fall and look fabulous backed by the glossy foliage. The fruit later turn blue and then black against the nice red fall color. This gorgeous 6-8' viburnum comes from the Winterthur Museum and looks glamorous in the landscape with or without its colorful fruit.
