This prostrate-growing mountain hemlock has a wonderful blue-green foliage. Short needles on long, thin branches make the new growth stand out from the dense, fluffy texture of the older foliage.

This is an interesting variety that is twice as wide as it is tall with a nice blue-gray color. It was initially collected on Mt. Rainier in Washington state by Elsie Frye in about 1940.
