Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Found growing in a field of R. 'Vulcan', but with some different characteristics. The leaves are larger, flatter, and thicker, making it less susceptible to tip burn and consequently, more tolerant of sun exposure. The flowers are still the same size as 'Vulcan' and still a bright red.
We are making a trial run of this plant which was found in a field of 'Vulcan's'. After a few years the grower realized that this plant, as well as all of the cuttings from it, grew differently than the others. For the most part it is very similar to 'Vulcan.' There are exceptions: The leaves on this plant are larger, flatter, and thicker, which in turn make it less susceptible to tip burn (i.e. more sun tolerant) It is also a more vigorous grower than the original, but as far as we know the flowers are still the same size and gorgeous red color! Previously listed as 'Vulcan' Tetraploid. ('Mars' x griersonianum)
