Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Among the hardiest, this wonderful 20-30' cherry tree is famous for its bright cinnamon to golden attractively peeling bark; 2-3" racemes of white flowers in spring mature to small ¼ " glossy black cherries which can be used in jellies or juice; yellow fall color is not particularly bright, but the bark creates great winter interest. S/M
This is the hardiest of the cherries. It is well worth growing for its excellent bronze bark which peels off in strips like some of the birches. It has a profusion of white flowers in racemes 2-3" long followed by small black fruits. Grows to 45' tall and wide.
